Default Small question

I seen somewhere in the manual that you can place a snowboard or skis in the middle of the back seat. Like you can make an opening in the middle of it and your snowboard or skis will lay in the trunk and on the back seat. So my question is... Do all 02-05 Audi A4 have that opening or is that something for Audi a4 Avant ? The reason why I'm asking is that I don't want to buy a ski/snowboard rack. To me a rack looks stupid on the roof of an Audi, also I don't want to lay seats down, since a lot of times I take my friends with me, and having an extra space would be cool. BTW I've looked everywhere on the message board for the answer and I didn't see anything about it. Most of the time people were talking about rack if using search button.

Its an optional accessory. When you fold down the arm rest in the back seat there is a panel that can be removed exposing a nylon "bag". Then you can load your skis longitudinally in the trunk where they extend between the back seats, but remain in the "bag" protecting your interior.

makes a lot more sense in my head because I can picture what I am talking about. Hopefully I haven't confused you.

Sometimes I see people selling sets of seats on craigslist for cheaper. If they are cheaper then the racks you could purchase the seats with the winter package and it should include the nylon bag under the middle armrest. I have always wondered what that was for and never cared to figure it out but it makes sense.

I have it and its not quite big enough for a board ski's are fine, I'd rather have a roof rack though just my opinion.
