Default Rear Fog Light

So I know that the rear fog light is basically pointless. I used to use it on occasions when it was really foggy but the bulb went out. I have searched to see what kind of bulb it taks and I never get any results. I do not want to go to the dealership due to ridiculous prices and I dont want the message to show up anymore when I turn on my light that my fog light is out. Anyone know what bulb it takes?

Y not just take the bulb out look at the bottom and the number on the side of the bulb write it down and go to the autostore and get the same one. The bottom will tell u what u are looking for.

It takes the same as the brake/reverse lights. Reverse lights I can verify, I got Xenon (non-HID) bulbs for reverse, and popped the reverse bulbs into the empty one that's not powered. Working on wiring it up currently, but they fit, and the powered one works fine.

Yeah I took the bulb out. Its comparable to the one for the tail light for just when you are driving that shows that your lights are on.. Not exactly sure what you would call it but I put that one in the fog light socket and it came up as a missing bulb still. my guess is because its not the same wattage because the rear fog light is much brighter?? The one that was in the fog light socket had no markings on it whatsoever.

Odd, I haven't gotten any warnings when I did the same (or were you saying you put the fog light in somewhere else). Wattage (resistance) could be the issue, as it may go by resistance. I get beeped at every 10 times I start the car for a blown front fog, even when I don't have them on (never now) and they don't turn on to test... Honestly I don't know what metric the car uses to test the bulb. I'd call the stealership and just ask for a part name for the rear fog light bulb. If they won't give it to you, try a different dealership, hell try one in a different state. Dealership customer service is night and day depending on where you go...
