Hello All!

New to the Audi world (moved over from BMW). I now have a 2005 A4 (still in the B6 platform). I have been spending some time combing through the posts picking out TODO's and the posts at this forum have been very helpful. So first of - thanks.

I am looking to install the full battery tray cover or rain plenum cowl in the engine compartment. This is the plastic cover that goes over top the cabin filter, battery, brake fluid resevoir and ECU compartment. I have gone to the dealer who cannot seem to find the right part number. I have also gone through VagCat with no luck. I gather this part was installed on previous years or possible older models. ECStuning does have the part (no Audi part number though) however the shipping cost is almost $250!! If someone knows the part number or has this cowl and can look to get the part number that would be great. I was able to get the small battery cover lid. By the way, I have gone through with part number 8H1819447 which is the small cover I currently have.

not sure of the part number but when i got mine from the dealer they charged 40 for the tray and 16 for the cover. just fyi

 

Thanks, that's about the same I am hoping at teh dealer. The ECStuning site lists it for about the same price. Problem is shipping would be $250!

 

ya... ecstuning is known for their overpriced shipping. its not right... for a couple stickers they charge $10 for shippping. lol what a joke

 

If you find the part numbers let us know, I have been missing the small cover over the battery since I got the car and would love to have it replaced. Thanks in advance

 

Does anyone have a picture of the cover(s) being discussed? Just got my first A4 and I don't think I have any covers up there...

 

I don't have a picture handy. If you open your hood, you shouldn't be able to see your battery or cabin air filter. If you can see your cabin air filter, you don't have any of the cover. If you can see just your battery, then you have all but the small cover (like me).

Myst420 - The dealer was able to order me the small cover. The part number was 8E1 819 422A.

Hearmespool - What year is your car? Was the tray stock on your vehicle as it appears at some point they stopped installing them.
