Default purge valve

So my car has been running really sluggishly for the past couple of months. But this only happens once the car is warm. So far i have replaced the fuel filter, coolant temp sensor, spark plugs, and some vac hoses. I have two more options....a) my cel comes on every now and then with p0441 which is the purge valve. Would that make this happen? b) the diverter valve. But i am not really sure of the symptoms for that.

P0441 on my 2002 A6

Identafix indicated P0441 very comon for my car. 41 out 45 fixes were the purge valve - N80 solenoid valve. Easy fix, $40. I replaced the valve and the code remained. Smoked the system yesterday and found smoke coming from the left rear wheel well. There are EVAP system lines in that area, so today I am taking it apart to search for the leak. The only other part that might be a conributor is the gas cap.
