P0301 Blinking Check Engine Light
2003 A4 1.8T Quattro 5spd, stock w/ test pipe
I have code P0301 (misfire Cyl 1) and the CEL is blinking, the car idles very rough.
Things I tested:
- Swapped plugs
- Swapped injectors
- Swapped coilpacks
- Swapped MAF
* Misfire was still in cyl 1
Compression Check:
Cyl1 - 117
Cyl2 - 150
Cyl3 - 150
Cyl4 - 150
Even though Cyl 1 is low, would that be enough for the car to shutdown the cylinder and persist with misfire in cyl1 ?
Note: The ecu on the car is from another car and I had someone remove the IMMO.
Any chance the ignition control on the ECU is bad? I know the B6 has the ICM,etc.. built into the ECU

Low compression is bad juju..... If you have lower compression in the same cylinder that misfiring, and you did the right process of elimination. Its just leading up to something you don't want to hear. They make cheap exhaust analyser kits you stick in the coolant.
Head gaskets aren't all that uncommon on 1.8's
