Oil Change by morons
i have a 2003 audi a4 1.8t 67k miles, i work at sears so i went to get my oil changed plus a oil flush cause apparently my oil screen filter is rather clogged. so i dropped my car off at work i told the manager and the salesmen and mechanic it takes full synthetic which i would think every mechanic could gather... they did the oil flush and put in conventional oil i noticed when they were ringing me up and i flipped out on them and they had to redo the oil flush and put in synthetic oil, then ofcourse when they took it off the rack the pulled off the body guard underneath and broke it but i already got them to order the new under body parts however now my low oil light keeps coming on, it came on 2 days ago then went off and came back on today and the oil level is fine. could they of messed up something with the conventional oil? unfortunately i dont have a vag reader to check it out myself.
also when i dont fully floor it but push the gas peddle over half way theres a clicking noise that comes from what sounds like the engine bay under the car, i cant think what it is other than what a couple have said it could be the cv joint but im not sure if thats what it is.

There is a good possibility that with all the flushing you got some gunk in the oil level sensor. If the light is intermittent and the level on the dipstick is fine, that is what I would suspect. The sensor is part of the oil cooler near the filter so they may also have damaged it when they did the oil change, as I assume they did the filter also.
As for the clicking noise, I dunno. Could be lots of different things. Check the CV boots for tears/leaks.
Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

they changed out the oil filter after the oil flush, unless you meant the oil screen one? i might take it to the dealer tomorow see if theyll look at it and ima try and get sears to pay for it since they messed it up. i just got one cv boot replaced not to long ago so i dont think its that unless its from when they replaced it i dont remember if it did it before

I'm not by any means a knowledgeable Audi owner. I'm having exactly the same issues as spikezone2004 and I also own a 2003 A4 1.8T with 118k on it. I've been noticing since my last oil change the same sort of "rattling" from the engine, when the throttle is pushed past halfway. I also just had a "low oil level" light come on last night on the highway, and sure enough I checked the oil while hot and it's showing way low. I waited till this morning to see if there were leaks and I found none. This is definitely related because spikezone2004 mentioned low oil level and a strange rattling just like mine. Anyone have any ideas?
P.S. I can almost guarantee it is not a CV joint as it doesn't make the sound from steering or bumps but only as a result of throttle increase. It doesn't seem to have this effect in 1st gear, but all subsequent gears when throttle is applied past half.

Guys just do the oil change yourself. It's Easy and this way you know EXACTLY what went in the engine. I really don't trust anyone when it comes to oil changes. Every ******* mechanic I know that changed the oil on my A4 who is not a German car specialist has always put cheapie conventional oil in it.
It seems to me that in this day and age most garages are run by one certified mechanic and the rest are full on noobs who don't know their ******* from their elbow

i very well agree with you. My mechanic is certified and a good guy but the guythat has to do the actual work has no clue what he is doing. I had a eletrical problem and he told me the wire underneath my steering wheel had shorted out the car. I told him that wire had been there for 4 years and that wire powered my led lights that havent been on the car for 3 years and wasnt even hooked up anywhere. He looked at my with a (ohshit) look like what can i say next. I talked to the owner (certified) he told me he would fix it for 40 bucks. I said u need new help.
