Default Next upgrade advice

I have an 02 b6 1.8t with stage 1 apr tune. I had two options in mind for my next upgrade. I have about $500 or so. Car is getting close to 140k miles.

Would it be smart to get the Audi tt fuel injectors or a carbonio intake? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks guys

Most people have found little to no gains with the carbonio intake. The TT225 injectors, on the other hand, would enable you to upgrade to stage 1+, which should be worth +20 hp...

the injectors and reflash to stage1+. They should reflash you for free i think. They say going from stock to stage 1 in a wake up and from stage 1 to 1+ is another level of wakeup. most bang for your buck.

Sure, if you send it in to APR, but a local shop acting as an APR dealer may well charge you a (small) labor fee for flashing it for you. I would not expect it to be expensive, as it's only a few minutes of work, but it's not ridiculous to think that they'd charge *something*.

Got the stage1, what would be the next perfomance upgrades/mods? Was looking at a down pipe but heard you get few HP gains.

Thanks

Depending on where you live and what weather you experience, you may see significant benefit from a front mount intercooler. Basically, the stock side mount intercooler is very small and heat soaks easily, so when you are running the higher than stock boost of stage 1 or 1+ (or anything beyond that), you can't get more than 1-2 good pulls in before you start losing power due to the intercooler not being able to cool the charge air properly anymore. FMICs tend to cool better and have higher heat capacity, thus alleviating that problem. You might gain a few HP, but the real benefit is in being able to run the car hard for longer stretches before running into heat soak and its resultant power loss.
