New Tires, advice before I buy?

New Tires, advice before I buy?
After seeing the Nitto advert up top (couldn't watch the video, work != youtube), I was wondering, what do you guys think is the best summer ultra-high-performance tire? I have always used Toyo on other cars, and the Cooper Zeon Sports that came with the car are treating me well, but anybody have special preferences? Toyo Proxes T1R are the best tires I have ever used (by my opinion), and priced to my 17 inch stock rims, Z rated and reinforced, are $150 a tire (www.1010tires.com). I was wondering before I spend the money, of any other recommendations...
Also, the [43 swear words removed] Audi Stealership "Kinney Motors" put a MASSIVE gouge in the very edge ofone of therims (can't prove it was them, already fought that battle, moving on), and I was wondering also if I should get all new rims (and replace the "missing" spare as well, again, it *wasn't* Kinney Motors even though it disappeared while it was there for 3 weeks...), or get by with the scuffed dented rims I have now. They seem to ride fine...
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I am aiming for $200 or less per tire, but still want general opinions regardless of cost, and if I get rims, I want 18-19 inchers, atleast 8-8.5 inches wide, though I am aware that with low profile tires thats going to put my cost through the roof.

I have run Pirellis before.. they work nice, but hands down the S-02's are the best tire (Made by Bridgestone) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....l=Potenza+S-02
Contact Hartmann wheels if you dont mind going with Replica wheels. Are you looking to upgrade the wheels as well? Or just replace what you currently have??
I would suggest getting a matching spare with a matching tire to add to your rotation when you rotate the tires. A difference in tread depth can be detrimental to your AWD system.

I had Toyo Proxes 4's on my TT and they were great tires, but really noisy. I'm now running Falken FK452's on both my S4 and my TT. I love them. Grippy, quiet and excellent rain performance.
