New member, fuel pressure ?'s
Hello all, coming from bmw world and those forums, I look forward to my new '02 A4 b6 FWD, CVT (did these cars have tiptronic or all CVT?) with 82k.
Car will start only after cranking for a few minutes and after reading/searching for way too much time, I think the fuel pressure is too low and bleeding back. Car runs great once running.
I have a filter on the way and will start there. Already replaced t-stat housing, fan controller, check valves-it has green temp sender so I guess that is working.
So, where is the fuel pump on this car? It is not under rear seat on passenger side (tank is under the cover) drivers side has a foil hear shield, can't imagine it's under that.
Second question, where is the fuel pump relay and what are pins to jump it?
As another member mentioned, the relationship is 'complicated' but I am looking forward to driving it the car, here's to hoping this forum makes it less 'complicated' haha!

I thought at least one person would know where the fuel pump is and know how to jump it. After checking for spark, that might be the second place to troubleshoot on any car.
I see the fuel pump is in the trunk. The a4mods.com writeup is for the quattro which has it under the seat. Also, for any other newbies- you can put power to the right side of the fuse (panel under cover on left side of dash) #28iirc and that will power the pump. I took power from fuse #40 the horn.
Pressure is leaking back and I pulled the injectors out and only one seems to dribble a very tiny amount of fuel. So, can you replace a check (ball) valve for the fuel pump or do you have to replace the whole fuel pump?
Thanks in advance!
