New to me B6 clutch problems...
So I just bought this 04 A4 1.8T quattro with the six speed in it...amazing ride. At any rate, shortly after buying it, the clutch quit engaging and it wouldn't go into gear unless you turn the engine off. So I started by vacuum bleeding the slave which made no difference. At that point I went to the local import parts house and bought a clutch kit and slave cylinder.
1st question: Whats the general concensus about the clutch kits that come with the flywheel to convert them from dual mass?? The guy at the local parts house said its the one all the local repair shops are using. I dont think I need an aftermarket clutch kit. Also, there is a local machine shop close to me who knows their **** and can resurface dual mass flywheels. But I bought the one with the flywheel conversion.
2nd question: I'll post up a pic of my pressure plate and I guess tell me if you guys think she's shot or what? I'd just like to have a good idea of what made this failure occur.
Side note: When I pulled the slave out of the tranny after lowering it a bit, the rubber boot that sits over the push rod inside the slave came off during removal. Along with the push rod itself. Am I safe to assume this was the failure point, or was it just from tugging on it taking it out of its seat? Thanks guys.

Nevermind on the failure reason...LOL. Disregard 2nd question and sidenote...haha. Still curious what peoples opionions are on the clutch kit setup I got? Just looking for a nice stock OEM feel.

for the clutch kit, it depends on the qulaity but there are plenty of people, including myself, who are running a single mass flywheel. mine came in the kit from ecs tuning, the ra4 clutch kit which includes a single mass flywheel and a oem b5 s4 clutch
