Unhappy Need help fixing 3 interior things! Please Help!

Hi Everyone,

So I've had a few things break in my car! Nothing was specifically done to cause these breaks, I guess the parts were just worn out. Nonetheless, here is the list:

- Glove compartment/box door broke; one of the hinges snapped.
- Arm-rest console lid broke; both hinges snapped.
- In-dash cup-holder broke; doesn't come out at all!

Are these easy repairs? What is the recommended course of action? Should I goto the dealer (I'm assuming they'll be expensive)? Just buy the parts from the dealer and DIY? I see parts listed on eBay, but some are listed really cheap (coming from China) and others are listed as OEM and really expensive. I'm strapped for cash, but I can't stand these little breaks in the car.

Mind you, I'm not a handy-man at all, but if I can save a lot of money by going the DIY route, then I hope there's some DIY instructions for these specific faults.

Please help if you can, cheers!

I can price these out for you, but for the console lid that is offered in many colors and cloth, leatherette, and leather. I'd need your vin but to ball park this for you:

glove box door 180.00 plus 21.98 for the brake that sits off to the right side. It acts like a shock absorber to slow the opening of the door. When this inexpensive part goes bad the door slams open and breaks the hinges of the more expensive lid, as you know.

center arm rest lid is 172.50 for leatherette, or 120.00 for cloth

dash cupholder 86.25

Any questions please ask. Thanks, Jeff.

The console lid is black leather.

Are these dealer prices?

Also, are these easy as DIY repairs?

Cheers!

Its easy to fix them yourself. Do not go to dealer and spend extra money. You can find some good DIY instructions online.

If you are mechanically inclined you can handle all the repairs yourself. takes 10 seconds for the armrest lid, 30 minutes if you don't know the trick to replacing the glove box lid, and 10 minutes to replaces the pop out cup holder.
