Need Engine or I'm parting her Out/Dumping Her
I've got a 2002 Audi A4 3.0L AWD Fully loaded that I'm trying to put an engine into. But I'm having trying to figure which route I should take.
I can do a reman for like $1500 (plus labor) and get a 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty. Or Grab a used block off of someone on the forums or e-bay... or a junk yard. Which would be better?
What happened was that the timing tensioner failed and probably bent all the valves.
Today or tomorrow I'm going to have the car timed with a new tensioner and pulley put on to see if it runs correctly. I know it is like less than a 1% chance that there wasn't major interference, but hell... its worth a shot since the motor is toast otherwise.
Anyway, just about everything in the car is in MINT condition. It is silver with black leather interior. Fully Loaded too.
I'd be interested in parting it out or selling it as a roller for $3500.
But if it isn't a smart idea either way, I'll just fix her up and drive her as planned.
Thoughts? How much do you guys think I could get from parting her out?
