ok, so the lower radiator hose on my 2002 a4 keeps coming off. it is a 1.8t if that matters. the first time it came off, both ends of the plastic clamp thing looked intact, but the metal clamp that slides up and down to release the hose was very rusted. So i replaced that, but it just came off again, so there has to be a problem with either the receiving end on the radiator, or the plastic flange piece that joins the radiator piece. mainly the reason I am here is because I do not want to possibly be chasing the wrong problem. is this a sign of another problem, like maybe too much pressure built up in the cooling system? I was thinking about picking up another radiator, I found a new one reasonably cheap, is this a good idea? or again, should I be looking elsewhere? I am reasonably new to the a4, picked it up not too long ago for a really low price, so ive been slowly resolving problems as I go. Thanks!

 

dude same problem with my 02 A6. just did water pump timing belt thermostat everything. on 2/18/16 at kids daycare the hose came off from lower rad. how do i put it back on.

 

ok, so my problem ended up being my coolant reservoir cap. it wasnt venting any pressure, and apparently the lower radiator hose is the weakest point in the system. so that is the first one to blow.
