Default LED lights

I know that Mercedes does not allow LED festoon bulbs (for license plate lights). It will flash and shut it off. You need a resistor for it to work.

BMW and Lexus work with after market LED wedge and feston bulbs.

Does Audi have a problem with after market LED lights?

Yea, but its really not a big deal. If you don't put in a resistor it will tell you that the bulb is out.

But it will still light up, not like Mercedes where it shuts it off?

Yup it'll definately light up. Just don't expect a huge improvement - I swapped out both my rear brake lights for LEDs soon as a I bought my a4 and n retrospect i would simply have save the $16 and gone with conventional lights. I think you need the whole big LED cluster light thing going for a big difference.

Yea, its not a huge difference, unless you're swapping out white bulbs (like your tag lights)

Nope, I meant the wedge bulbs for the license plate lights and the interior lights. does anyone know exactly what size these bulbs are?

Certain bulbs are available for sale at the SYLVANIA Online Store. New bulbs will be online for purchase in the coming weeks.

Myst420, thansk a lot. The site I was referring to is www.superbrightleds.com
They only sell 168/194 bulbs and festoon bulbs (the cylindrical kind) so I would need to know size (42 inch, 44 inch, 48 inch, etc)

IN the spirit of this thread, I've ordered some LED park lights from ebay for $8 thinking I might as well give them a shot... any experience anyone?

i have led license bulbs and reverse lights. my plate lights work fine i order them from autoillumination for like 12 bucks or something there are 9led ones half way down the bottom of the page. no problems with flickering or not working or error codes. jus make sure they are over 12v on the led. pics!
