Default KInda annoyin...

Well, this only happens once in a while but can be quite frustrating. For some reason, when I turn the car off the "headlight on" beep keeps beeping even though the headlight is not on and wasn't even on during the ride. I have to turn the key to the on position a couple of times and turn the headlight on and off to get it to stop beeping. This wouldn't be a big deal but I can't enable my alarm until it stops making that beep. Any idea what it could be? I'm taking my car in to get fixed (side fold mirrors and passenger seat motor) next week and would like to tackle this problem as well.

Thanks in advance...

next time it happens check to make sure your right or left blinker still isn't on. there's a feature in place,as i understand it,for when it's dark you can hit your blinkers on and it'll turn on the parking lights. not 100% sure there's a lot of value in that "feature". but it is "by design". happened to me a bunch of times before realizing the correlation. then i joined this forum and a few members ran into the same issue

I don't think that's the case cause it just happened to me and it's sunny as can be outside. I'm almost positive the blinkers were not on any of the instances.

hey akarol - the feature isn't triggered by your auto light setting or when it's dark out. say you pull over to the side of the road to park...day or night...you use you right blinker to indicate you're pulling over. if you don't turn the blinker off/leave the right blinker on, turn the car off and open the door the "lights on" warning will sound until you turn the blinker off

this may not be the same situation. but something i ran into when i first got my car. next time in your car, before turning the ignition on or even putting the key in the ignitionput your blinker on and then open the door. you'll see what i'm referring to

Hey man,

Thanks for checking up on me. After a little more investigation, I'm beginning to suspect that it might not be a light beep after all. Instead, I'm beginning to think it might be the "door ajar" alarm that's going off, even when the key is off the ignition. The same alarm that beeps when the car is on and a door is open continues sometimes when I have the keys removed from the ignition and won't allow me to lock my car via the FOB.
