Default Just got boost gauge...boost/vaccum leak??

Hi guys,

After having flashed the APR stage 1+ and injectors, i didnt really see much performance increase from stage 1.

So i installed a boost gauge today. got a sunpro at autozone for $30.

Now heres the problem, whenever i floor it, accelerate hard, the boost gauge maxes out to 20 psi(not sure if psi, but they label it "press"). There is no way in hell my ko3 is pushing 20 psi, right??

If i accelerate a little bit, saying 0-20 in first gear, the gauge reads 10-15 psi. Still i think thats a little high.

Can someone please help me solve this problem?? I feel like my stage1+ is slow for 235hp

Edit: It is an 2002 A4 1.8T Fwd CVT

that sounds about right. I think stock the psi is somewhere around 10 to 12. . . Stage 1+ should peak at around 18 to 22 psi depending on location and weather. . And hold 12psi until redline.

Does stage1+ improve top speed performance or acceleration?

hmm how fast u looking to go. i know our governor clocks out somewhere near 135 or so. it well help all around but mostly acceleration is where u tend to feel it.

Besi start a thread with cvt mileage just so we can keep tabs on when they got out

oo i have 147,000 on my cvt.

My stock 1.8T maxes out at 11 PSI, and it only does that if I floor it in a high gear at low RPM (driving more "normally," like flooring it in a lower gear, I'll see 9 PSI max). My understanding is that Stage 1 maxes at around 15-16 PSI and 1+ is another few pounds, so 20 wouldn't be out of the question.

It's also possible that the OP's boost gauge is not 100% accurate - it might be reading a pound or two high, for example, which would put it right where it's supposed to be with APR 1+.

Did you not ask any questions before getting tuned?? Yes 20 is a little on the high side, you are probably around 16-18 psi peak with the tune. Your AutoZone boost gauge is probably a little off. However 20psi peak isnt out of the question. I have stage 1 tune done on mine and it peaks around 19 and levels off around 13.

yea ive heard the most accurate boost gauges are digital ones. So that might be part of the reading problem. . . .
