Default ...and it's making a funny noise.

Just bought a 2003 A4 Quattro 3.0. All seems good.

There's a noise coming seemingly from behind the dashboard. Sounds like a little servo motor moving something back and forth irregularly. It's quiet, but very noticeable. Whirr, pause, whirr. (Not exactly, but that's the best I can do to describe it.)

Anybody got any idea what that could be? Are there any little servos back there? I have an appt for my local audi independent to give the car the once-over on Thursday, but I don't want to wait that long if it could be trouble.

Thanks everyone!!!!!!

I had that noise too. It doesn't happen all the time. It usually happens when I just turn on the engine and start driving. It disappears after few seconds. Sometimes I can hear that too when I turn off the car.

Please let us know what dealer says about it. Thanks.
