I'm def. happy about the no payment... I'm considering getting a warranty as well for about 2500 bucks... you guys think its worth it?

Any luck on those interior pics Paul? I'm itching to place an order and would love to see your kit first.

I hear ya man. That gti must've been fun to drive though! haha. But really the audi's are a lot of fun to drive as well. they can be a pain in the *** at times with some of the problems but i really like my car a lot.

Thumbs up

@tmic - the GTI was awesome and a little quicker than the current 1.8T (actually quite a bit quicker it seemed). But im hoping if I chip the car that will be alleviated.

I really hope I don't get too many problems with the car (wishful thinking ) it only has 60K miles on it.

Would you suggest I purchase a warranty ??? - the mechanic said that usually he doesn't recommend it but for that car it would probably pay off!

@paul - no worries on the pics i know life is busy, whenever you get around to it man..

What was the gti a 2.0t? a vr6?

Yeah I say get the warranty. We were going to, but the warranty was some ridiculous price, so we figured we'd roll the dice and take our chances.

It was a 2.0 - great little car - perfect for the city with tight parking and all. Small and very fun to drive (it drove like a sturdy car)...

So regarding the warranty - I take it you have had some repairs that would have been covered? Im getting quoted $2500 from AAA New England for everything (drivetrain, engine, tranny and electrical, ect..) Seems like a good deal to me. 5yrs/100K from the point of purchase... so up to 161K miles.

Well the warranty we were going to get didn't even cover that much, and it was like 3,000. My dad said hell the car is only 6800, we might as well take our chances.

And actually in the 5K miles and six months I've owned it I've had a total of zero repairs. *KNOCK ON WOOD LOL* Actually one because the tire was low I had to get it patched. But that's not really a warranty type of repair.

Thanks for the pics man.. looks pretty good I appreciate you taking the time to post them - looks like you got the full kit.

I was just planning on doing the dash and door panels and the console/ashtray. Plus I think Im going to go with the dark cherry.
