installing HID's...what do I need to know?
I'm no stranger to doing HID's, but does my A4 B6 have ballasts already? Will a light come on in the cluster when I install them? Where would I start if there is a ballast?
Thank you gentlemen.

well if u are no stranger to hids that i want to know the reason for installing hids if u car is already equipped with ballast. If u already had ballast then u already have hids and installing a new set would only be taking away from the car as the stock hid system is better then any aftermarket kit you will ever buy. But that being said are your lights blue when they light up. If not u have a stock halegon system and will need a kit. Most kits are plug and play but some tend to throw a error when being fired up. I think the error comes from the ballast being placed to close to the abs module causing all the lights inside to light up. Just turn off the car and turn it back on and the problem goes away. Or u can wait till your in drive to ignite the lights and most of the time you wont get the christmastree. Other then that people will tell u that you will need error cancelers but thats incorrect as you wont need them if u install it right the first time. I dont have error cancelers on mine and have had them in the fog lights for over 3 years now without a single problem. If u have any futher questions feel free to ask.

the car is stock halogen right now, i'll be replacing with 4500K-5000K bulbs. What do you mean when you say the ballast placed too close to the abs module? Should I have some slack in the wire between the ballast and the module?
