Default I have 1,200 dollars to spend. (FWD Auto 1.8T)

I have a 03 1.8T that I just got from a friend and want to make quicker. (oh and the tiptronic goes from 1-6 gears)
I also have 1,200 dollars to put into it.
What do I do? I know a chip, but besides that!!

Is there a point where it being a FWD and Auto sort of make it pointless to tune it anymore??

Thanks Alot!

Actually I guess the timing belt job ($750) + the revo stage 1 ($400) will eat up all my money.

Can someone with an Auto and the Stage 1 please give me some info on their experience with the upgrade?

Thanks Alot

FWD auto? Do you mean you have a CVT transmission? In that case, you can't really mod it at all without it blowing up the trans. CVT's suck.

The CVTs are hit and miss. I had an A4 with the CVT and put 70,000 miles on the car without any tranny problems (and no problems in general). I've read about people who have 100,000+ miles and have not had a failure yet others have replaced theirs at 20,000 miles or less.

If your car's out of warranty, I'd suggest keeping a few thousand $$$$ around in case the tranny decides to go south or for any other parts. A4s are fairly reliable, as I stated before, mine had 70,000 miles and had no major problems. But if something breaks, it's typically more expensive to fix than Japanese or American cars.
