Ok,... I know this has been posted over and over... I Vag-com 'd my car and changed the settings to all the possible country codes. It was already set to the all other countries code... when i changed it to USA, Canada, or the other countries it made my headlights stay on w/out the **** being turned... ??? any ideas???

thats exactly what the Canadian country code does. Unless you have an 02 A4 you need to rewire your headlight switch for independent fogs. Otherwise you have to settle for sidemarkers and fogs all the time.

 

Is it possible to run with only fog lights on an '02, because it appears that the switch won't come out to the fog lights on position unless at least the parking lamps are on.

 

your side markers will always be on when the fogs are on. Even on mine the side markers are on. Luckily though, the ecodes re-route the side markers to the city bulbs so it looks good instead of having the orange lights.

 

have a 02 model and do the vag com mod

since yours is an 04 either give it up or rewire your headlight switch

it's not the switch that controls it. It's the headlight computer module. either way your going to have the side markers on as well.

 

^^^ What he said. And, the >'03 wire splice is a simple 5 minute operation that is easily reversable. There is a how-to on either AZ or AW.
But also as mentioned, you've got side markers no matter what unless you completely re-wire the things. But fogs without headlights works well, especially with clear corners or ecodes with city lights.

 

i have an 02 and i have that mod, its alrite nothin special
but ya so far only the 02s can be vaged to do it
