is homelink self-contained in headliner ?
Hi,
I'm usually from the B5 scene, but I got at a scrap yard the homelink module in the driver's sunvisor from a B6. I want to install it in my B5 but i don't know if it's self-contained or if there's a module or antenna, etc, somewhere else ?
Here's a pic of it:

The actual transmitter is in the front left bumper. The visor unit itself will not be enough to make it work unfortunately.
Although I wouldn't be too surprised if the transmitter is present in all vehicles and the controls are what they add in when someone wants to pay for that option. Assuming that any B5s have this option. If you have the connectors in that area you can hook it up, if not then you would need the transmitter as well and all the wiring harnesses.

Huh. I thought it was in the front right (passenger side) bumper. It's been a couple of months since I set mine up to operate my garage door though, so I may be misremembering it. On some level, it's a minor nitpick, but I suppose if someone were to look inside the bumper trying to find the actual hardware, it'd be good to be looking on the correct side.
