I think it might have something to do with the electronic throttle control. Man I miss the days of instant response via throttle cables
I would suggest this. Remove and clean the throttle body and reset it. Then see if it works. There is a write up on how to DIY somewhere here I just don't have time to find it. I'm off to work!!!! Wait... FOUND IT!

Listen, TRY the TBA first and if that doesn't work research it some more. Changing the fuel filter is a pain in the *** and if you're gonna do it because it needs to be replaced then fine but if you're gonna do it because it *might* be what's causing the problem then forget it. Start with cleaning the TBA and go from there. Auditech is a good guy to go to but from the looks of things I think he's on the rag right now lol
