Glove Box Handle Broke off

Glove Box Handle Broke off
Ok, so the handle is off and I need to get in the box. I'm not real concerned with fixing right now but more on how to open it safely. Can I use a screwdriver in the hole or something. Don't really want to pry it open as I will be trading it in very soon on a B7. Just need to get out my GPS unit before my trade in.
Thanks for any input.

ok so you want to look for the two metal pins tthat hold the door shut. they are on either side on the top on the door. they retract horizonally into the door cavity. if the handle is completely broken these are your best shot. they're spring loaded, but it shouldn't be hard to work them back with a screwdriver.

OK once the handle is off there are 2 holes. Put a screwdriver into the lower smaller hole and pull to the side. Opens just like you used the handle. Hope this helps someone else.

RE: Glove Box Handle Broke off
I have a slightly different issue. The hydraulic opening mechinism on the right side of the glove box failed without my knowledge. After some time of opening and closing the glove box, the plastic broke just above one of the hinges. I'd like to replace the whole door. The pins seemed very difficult to remove. When you say spring loaded, I didn't notice anything like that. What should I be looking for and is there a specific direction to remove the pins? (I already removed the bad hydraulic unit).
