Default Head Rebuild. Help the newb

Hi guys. I'm new to the forums. Here's my story. I work with a guy who had a ming blue 02 A4 1.8 Quattro . He was driving to work when it broke down on him. He hadn't really had any problems with it other than the typical electrical stuff and the coil packs. He was told that it needed a new engine and didn't want to be bothered. I offered him some money for the car and he wouldn't have it. He offers to give it to me thinking it wasn't worth fixing. I took it right away to my mechanic and he said it needed a head job. He hadn't changed the oil in a while and the sludge problem did him in. SO I got an A4 with 74k on it for the price of the head job, timing and water pump. 2600 in total. Body and interior are like new condition. What else should i get checked out? Its been in the shop since friday and I should have it thursday. I don't plan to do much engine modding. I'm just gonna paint the lowers and a lip spoiler, door blades and navi. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (especially mechanical and rims) I'll upload pics when I get it out thursday or friday.

Thanks I hope so. Getting it out of the shop Friday and taking it straight to the body shop to paint the lowers and a full detail. Ordering the RNS-E navi off ebay. Thats about it for now. Taking suggestions on rims but not in a rush for those.

i would go with 19's alot of people on here will say uggghh 19's are too big and blah blah but hell i got 19's on stock suspension and it makes them look kinda puiny. Unless u have plans of dropping your car in the near future get 19's for sure. or u wanna go fast and save weight 18 or 17 would be the route.

Pa4ul. How's the car ride with 19's? Thanks for the info. I here a lot of people don't go for chrome on the A4's. Seen a lot of silver, gun medal, and black. Seems like everyone has the RS4 rims. I dunno. That's why I'm saving rims for last. too hard of a decision. But your info on the size is a big help. Tanks mon.
