Default Fuel Pump clicking ?????

Hi 2005 3.0 cab quattro

A couple of days ago when it was below freezing l heard a clicking coming out of the engine area! I thought maybe it was just the cold and when it warmed up it would go away. While it did get quieter after it warmed up, it continued the following day. Being that this is my brides car for work she stopped by her dealersip and they told her that the noise was coming from the "fuel pump".

Before l even call them what am l looking at or should l just go to an independent shop if l can find one.

I just don't want to get hosed, the last time l replaced her battery it only cost $125 but when my wife picked up her car it was over $200 because they charged her an hour for labor.

Thanks

Alan

the clicking is probably the fuel injectors, which is normal.

theres no fuel pump on a 3.0 in the engine bay......

200 for a battery is too much...?

they properly tested your battery, starter, and alternator... made sure your radio didn't need to be unlocked (based on year) Prolly topped off fluids (we do it) set your window pinch protection, set your clock and a free car wash and vacuum.

when the battery cost 120.00 by itself..... i mean i paid 140.00 for a battery for my car from autozone.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, this is my wife's car and she dropped by the dealership and they said everything was fine and sent her on her way. I took her car this morning and the noise was gone.
The only thing that l did was fill her tank with high test instead of the middle grade.

By the way l saw this afternoon a brand new A5 vert and it was awesome. it was a 2.0 no quattro but it looked much wider and longer but l couldn't tell if it was taller.

There's your problem. Get no less than 91 Octane for these engines or you will regret it. Stay on top of the maintenance to avoid any misshaps with your audi. I wouldn't buy any audi without Quattro.
