Extended warranty advice/info please!
I have a B6 3.0QT with 47k miles. Been a great car so far. But recently I'm having an issue with what I think is the powersteering pump. I posted a bulletin about this a few weeks ago, but received little imput cuz of how rare of a problem it must be. Feeling vibrations in the steering wheel and a humming sound from front end at low speeds while accelerating, and especially while decelerating and turning.
Anyways I'm toying with getting an extended warranty to cover this, along with possible expenses in the future. Is the timing belt/waterpump a 75k mile job???
Also, what else is involved between 50-80 or 100k miles?
The warranty options are anywhere from 4year, 75k miles (total, not extra) for $2800 to 5 years and 100k miles (total) for $4300. This is through my credit union.
If I don't get an extended warranty, I'd pretty much be sure to sell the car before timing belt, etc which I heard is roughly $3000. But if I can find a reasonable and thorough warranty program, I'd do it and keep the car longer. It's a red ultra-sport...rare as hell...and I love it. I just don't want to get screwed down the road either way! Any advice is appreciated!
