Default Engine Undercover Shield

Hey guys,

I just got my car washed and the oil changed on Saturday. When the mechanic was changing the oil, he called me out to my car. He showed me that the engine undercover shield underneath the car had been broken, and was really in bad shape. He put it back on the best he could, but he advised me to get a new one.

Where can I find one? Should I just go to a dealership? Also, how much does it cost?

The mechanic told me probably 100-200 dollars for it, but I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar.

Thanks for the help,
tmic0723

hmm i havent had mine on for over a year now. people will say it helps with aerodynamics and engine temps but all in all its just a pain in the but to people who change your oil and dont give a rats for your car. They wont put it back on right and thats why it will mess up again and again. Unless u start to change your own oil i would say u dont really need to get one. but if u want u can check ecs tuning. Dotn know if they sell that part or not.

It helps with debris from the road. Is the belly pan. ECS tuning or Genuine Audi parts have them for about 180 bucks.

For a non-mechanical, non-electrical part like this I would suggest also checking eBay and some junk yards. There are some of the latter than specialize in used Audi parts. I have heard the main reason for the belly pan is that owners of expensive German cars don't like to find oil drips on their driveway, but I have also heard (and it makes sense) that it offers engine protection, keeps dirt/mud away, and helps cooling.

I'll invest in one eventually..just because I'm doing my best to keep the car in good shape.

Default $55 ebay belly pan any good?

There's a b6 belly pan on Ebay for $22 plus $33 shipping at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Botto...#ht_5215wt_989

Can anyone tell if it's any good?
