Engine Misfiring?
hello, I'm new to this so bare with me. I have a 2002 audi 1.8t with 108k that went through alot of water because of rain.the water wasabout a foot and a half deep. When I went through the water the car had no problems and drove through the whole day fine but the next day it started to run funny. It was iddling like it had the hickups!! when I accelerated it had small thumping sounds and water coming out the muffler. My check engine light came on and started blinking and I think is the catalytic converteris clogged because it smells kinda bad when I rev the engine. I checked my spark plugs and 3 of them had alot of engine oil on them. I also noticed the part the connects the engine and the muffler was cherry red!Any Ideas?

RE: Engine Misfiring?
You sucked in water. Drain the oil, change the air filter, and change the spark plugs. The oil will be runny and watery if you did. If this is the case, just throw in some cheap reg oil and run it for another 100miles or so and then change it again. If the oil is still water, repeat above, if not, go back to syn and you should be fine. I had the same thing happen to my last car due to a cai.
