ECU eeprom/ecu reflash help...
OK......here it goes.....
I have a 2002 A4 1.8T 5spd that had a performance chip/upgrade done on the ECU. Apparently the ECU died, and the owner dumped the car... check engine light is out and wont turn on, so that is the basic first sign to know the ECU is toast...also, the key for the car was lost and needs to get a new key coded. I am very familiar with keys/transponder tech as I help out a friend of mine, who is a locksmith, so key programming is very familiar to me.
....so, that said, I got the car and I need to reprogram new (used) ECU to the car, got a new ECU from a junkyard, but I now know that I need to have the pin code of the car from where the ECU was pulled....the car is all parted out and no way to get a hold of the dashboard to get the pin.
Is there a way to replace the eeprom chip and/or chips to make the ECU work and/or get it reflashed???
...is there a way to clone the ECU's??
I have basic-intermediate soldering skills, and willing to give it a shot....
Is there a way to read and write manually the info from one ECU to the other??
Any input would be appreciated.....

Well, that is an option, but I would like to know if there is a way to clone it via eeprom reader/writer if possible....

Pin number.....? Never heard of anything other than the radio of having a pin number.
ECM's aren't plug and play. The part number needs to be compatible. Then the ECM needs to be coded to the immobilizer.

I am talking about the pin code (4 digits) code to reprogram new keys to the immo........also needed from the cluster that you take the ecu off in order to reprogram it to another vehicle....
