Driver Side Window Does not work; Replaced the motor.
Hi,
I have a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro, and for quite some time now my driver side window has not worked. I was told by the dealer, and another mechanic, that it was a bad window motor. The lights on the driver side door are not functioning either, and the same goes for the side mirrors.
Today, I replaced the window motor and... nothing changed. All of the other windows work fine, just the driver's side does nothing.
Is there anything i'm missing here? No sound comes from it whatsoever so I don't think it is a regulator issue, especially considering the lights don't work in addition.
Please help! I want to ride with my window down once again!
Thank You!

Sounds like a possible switch problem. Swap the drivers side master window switch assembly with a known working one. A good sign if the window switch is working is to see if it has power to it. If you turn on the headlights and the switch glows, then its safe to say the switch has switched power with regard to the headlight switch orientation. If you don't get power to the switch, then its not going to work. I've seen some switches that quit working simply because the contacts on one of the switches wore out, like the child lock button feature, and because the circuit isn't complete, it renders the whole switch useless. Pull the existing switch and check it for power with a test light. If that checks out, check the wiring from the switch to the fuse panel for shorts. But then you should have a blown fuse.

Not necessarily...I'm not sure if they do, but they MAY share the same 12v switched power. If its got a short in it, then both switches will not work.
