Crankcase breather hose
Hi,
Does anyone know if it nescessary to remove the whole manifold in order to change the crankcase breather hose on a 2002 A4 2.0 B6 ??
I can see the space is a bit tight, but has anybody manage to fix it without removing alot of parts?
I have asked around but nobody seems to really know it.
Added some pics its nr. 14
Thanx

I have an issue with this very hose.
I have what I thought was exhaust fumes coming into my cabin but i'm told by a mechanic that it's oil dripping from this hose (which is cracked), onto the manifold causing the fumes which are being drawn into the fresh air intake.
It's going to cost me £150 (parts (£40!? for a thin, cheap plastic pipe) and labour)).
The high labour cost is because he says he has to take the manifold off.
I'm going to have to wait until after christmas but I was wondering if anyone knew of a temporary fix, like duck tape around the crack or something to tide it over.
Might sound daft, but if the hose is cheap plastic I would have thought it'd melt, so presumably a bit of tape should be ok for temp fix maybe?
