also if you put it in gear while holding the clutch, with brake off will the car start or try to roll?

new slave came with rod(new slave looked same size) but it was a duralast. i put it straight in little bit of fumbling to get it in but i did take it on a 150 mile round trip today with only one hi-cup i guess i need a pressure bleederto get all the air out i would have thought the two small cans of fluid would have done that, maybe ill seperate the feed line from the brake reservoir and give it its own

I've had this before. Mine was a broken spring in the clutch disk. The small peace of spring was wedged in between the clutch disk and the flywheel. Sometime released sometime it didn't. Tried new master and slave cylinders with no help. Just a thought.

those springs are just there for dampening.
