Default Clutch slipping?

I have a 2004 a4 Quattro and I was driving on the freeway and my rpm gauge went up but my car had no power. I parked it and now it seems to be fine. I'm worried my clutch is slipping or is it maybe my slave cylinder ? Please help

check your brake fluid, it is the reservior for both the brakes and slave cylinder.

If the RPM go up but the MPH do not, then the clutch is slipping. The lack of fluid in the clutch plumbing does not affect slippage, but prevents you from releasing the clutch to shift gears. From your story, it would seem a new clutch is needed.

Replace the flywheel or your clutch could last half as long. I replaced mine.

Hey, I have had my ECS stage 2 clutch with flywheel in for about a month now and it is great. Seems to be geard torwd more spirited driving. No complaints or problems so far. It will take you a couple of days to master the new clutch thoug; Its a tad diffrent. I will post a more detailed report when i get home.

OP,

It could be that your rear main seal is leaking and getting oil on the clutch causing it to slip as well. I would definitely keep an eye on it.
