Default Clicking Noise after Turn Off Engine

Hi all,
Anyone else experience this? 04 1.8 A4 AWD.

When I turn off my car I get these random clicking noises and it sounds like its coming from everywhere?

Any ideas?

That clicking that you are talking about sounds like, the sound the heat shields make when cooling off, next time when you stop the car get out and pop the hood and see if the noise you are talking about is pretty loud around the Catalytic converter.

Ha, mine makes the same sound. Coming from the passenger side.
I would describe the sound as a multi-CD stereo setting up to swap CDs . Lol, I assume it has some thing to do with my heater. It's done it since the day I bought it so I don't trip, and my car doesn't run any kind of weird.

i think its ur cd's but it could also be ur throttlebody aliging to your driving habits.

I don't have my OEM radio any more that had the CD changer. Well at least it's not in my car.

then it might be ur thottle body adapting to driving conditions. I know i read somewhere about that on our cars. Hopefully someone will chime in with the same thoughts.

like said above, the car is cooling down after driving it hard. Sound comes from the exhaust and front engine compartment so it could 'sound like its coming from everywhere.' So basically, what Dan said.
