Check engine light after service.

Check engine light after service.
Hi folks. I serviced my car yesterday in a garage. They replaced the oil, oil filter, air filter and petrol filter. I drove home from the garage 15km. Parked the car I never started it until today. I drove from home within 5km from home the check engine light came on. I stopped and double checked everything. I started with the oil. 5w30 was used that never meets VW spec that my manual recommends. Went back to the garage and bought oil that meets VW speck drained the wrong oil and filled the right oil.
The owner wasn't there but I explained to him what happened on the phone. He asked the mechanic to change the oil. When I asked about the check engine light, he got to tell me to come back tomorrow for the scanning to reset it.
Will wrong oil trigger check engine light? Any advice will be appreciated

Okey I got the car on scanner. This is the failure code p0102. Since they changed the air filter part of the air breather hose was not attached as it should have been. Got it attached with the clip and the car runs fine again. The check engine light is off and I've been driving around the whole day.
Feeling complete once again. I love my baby and hate to see her acting not normal. Cheers
