Default B6 Headlight conversion back to halogen

So last week not one but both of my HID bulbs went out. I have replaced them 2xs in less than 3 years. My assumption is the ballasts are bad. My passenger headlight assembly needed replacing so I went ahead and purchased a standard assembly (non HID). I have 2 questions:

1) Can I use the HID ballast on my current assembly and connect it to my new assembly? Assuming it isn't bad.
2) If I cannot switch the ballast with the new assembly, will the new assembly still work using halogen bulbs?

thanks everyone!

u can use with hid's but the projector is not designed for hids. Alot of people will tell u blah blah it blinds oncoming drivers. Just aim a bit lower if u want to install the hids in the halogen capsule. But yes plug and play with halogen bulbs.

Thanks! I had a spare set of HID bulbs so i plugged them in and they worked so it wasn't the ballasts. Because of time constraints I replace the passenger side headlight assembly w/out the HID ballast. It's amazing how much better the lense looks than the lense that wasn't dull. But there is a huge difference in brightness so I will be adding on the HID ballast.

thanks again for you help Pa4ul!!
