Audi B6 Quattro Front axle/joint knocking/clicking sound
I bought a 2002 Audi B6 Quattro and After buying it and driving it I noticed it had a kocking noise under full acceleration in 1st gear only. It will rarley do it in 2nd gear, only when I can get enough torque to make the noise, but it will do it in 1st gear anytime im at a stop and give it full throttle.
It sounds like a continous knocking/clicking noise, like when going up a rollercoaster you hear the clicks then it starts going down and the clicks sound faster.
It feels like it is coming from somewhere in the middle of the axle, maybe the pumpkin. Or possibly like a front CV joint. Everything else are the car seems fine and it drives great.
I have noticed small cracking noises from the sound of dryed out rubber bushings when i turn my wheel left and right at a stand still.
Any help would be appreciated on pinpointing this one. Thanks
