Yes, you can do that but just don't push it at all...

This question has been asked quite a number of times in a few threads that I've read, and the answer is always the same... not unless they test drive it. Okay, but since it's recommended that you change your diverter valve when you get Stage 1 or Stage 1+, isn't that something they can spot anyway?

I've had my 2003 A4 1.8T Quattro for about a month now and have read as much as I could on chipping in this forum. I'm getting APR Saturday morning and can't wait. I ordered a Forge 007 and it came in today. My understanding is Stage 1 gives you the power under 5K rpm and Stage 1+ above 5K to redline. This is my daily driver so I'm just going for Stage 1. I had planned on Stage 1+ but I may just spend part of the $350 for the injectors on new coil packs and plugs.

Nope, stage 1 is a slight improvement over stock levels.. stage 1+ is a slight improvement over stage 1.. Still dies out above 5k. Even if you have a diverter valve/chip, a dealer wont' say anything about it, just dont' mention it. As far as teh whole warranty thing goes, it has to be proven that the part you modified cause the damage... for instance if you chip your car and you blow your turbo, then its not under warranty... but if you chip your car and your window regulator breaks or something, its not related so they have to fix it under warranty...
