So i replaced the 3 other coils. the car seems to be driving ok again, however the Engine Management light is still on, only this time it is continuously on rather than flashing. Also, im actually not sure if this sound was there before, but there is a sound like bees coming from around the ignition coil area.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

have u had someone clear your codes. Take the car to an auto store. Dont know if they are like here in the states but they clear the codes for free here. Then see if it comes back.

Hi thanks Pa4ul,

I drove the car around for the afternoon with the light on. Then it jsut disappeared by itself about 8 hours later when I started the car again. I assume this is normal.
Thanks.

I went through a similar experience with my 2004 A4, and then I brought it to the dealership for an unrelated issue (rr coolant flange), and they asked me if I wanted them to do the free Ignition Coil recall replacement.

I had them do that, and then they told me to call Audi to get reimbursed for the coils I had already replaced.

So, I called Audi at 800-822-2834, and they have a recording (option 3 and then 1) telling me where to send a copy of my dealer receipt and copies of the receipts for the coils I had replaced.

The address is;

Audi of America, Inc.
Customer Relations - ATTN: Ignition Coil Campaign J1
3800 W Hamlin Road
Auburn Hills, MI 48326

After about 4 weeks I got a check from Audi for the full cost of the coils I had replaced.

Thansk for that Chris. Worth a shot I suppose!
have to drop it into Audi centre anyway to get it serviced. Want to learn how to service it myself but I haven't had it serviced at all since I got it so want to let them have a look at it first.
