A4 B6 Raditator Fan, Fan Control Module, or Relay?
Hey guys, having some issues with my 2003 a4 1.8t FWD CVT
Ive done a lot of searching through forums and think i have narrowed it down to either the fan control module or the auctual relays.
Here is my Diagnosis: the fans work when given power, they do not come on ever when the car is on and i live in florida they should be on, the water temp is not going up at stop lights but the ac gets hot, if i turn the key to the on position with out turning on the car and set the AC to LO with recycling then the Rad fans come on highspeed and cycle speeds only this doesnt happen evey time i try this test, maybe only 2 out of 10 attemps, jus t before they come on or dont come on the fan control module makes a high pitch noise
here are my questions hopefully someone can help
How do you access the ecu box to get to the relays on the driver side next to the battery? looks like i have to remove the wipers and the pastic underneath it to access the rear screws?
Does anyone have any pictures of the process?
Also is there a way to test the fan relays other than for continuity?
and lastly will a vag-com pull codes for this problem?
Any help is much appreciated, im a brand new member and this is my first audi, with in the first month ive had to do a timing belt water pump, transmission controlmodule on the cvt tranny( have a great comp that overhauls them and totally fixed the problem(pro module repair out of CA) only cost me 250 and my cvt is like new, had to change all four ignition coils, front window regulator, and rear window clip!!!! I still have the fan control, and what seems to be the abs control module(get the traction control abs light on steady and brake light flashes, also makes 3 beeps when car is turned on) that both are intermitent and for some damn reason my dash keeps telling me my rear fog light is out when in fact its not, that too only works intermmitently
Thank you -Roberto
