4 cylinder turbo or 6 cylinder
Hey guys I just joined the forum and i'm getting ready to buy a A4 but I don't know should I buy a turbo 4 or a 6. If I get a 6 I will put a turbo on it shortly after so which would I get the better performance out of. also I've heard the maintence on the audi is a bit pricey is this true or just a rumor. thanks

The rumor is ALL true, lol! But most of us overlook that technicality because there's no better car out there!
And I would say go with the 1.8T or better yet 2.0T, depending on what year you're going with.

if you are gonna get a turbo anyways you might as well go with a turbo'd car anyways so all the neessary piping etc is already there, and for more power all you have to do is get a bigger turbo... I would go with the 2.0T if you can get that one

For the power i think it is better to have a v6 with a turbo, BUT
There is no turbo kits for a 3.0 on the market (yet at least). So if u wanna go on your own, but it is gonna cost you a lot of $$$.
But there is an alternative-- a SuperCharger for 3.0 available...
I mean if u have some experience in that you go ahead and try, but it is not that easy as it might seem to be.
On the other side, you can get a 1.8T, already Turbo'ed )) And there are a lot of different turbo upgrades available for it, but that still costs $$$.

Agreed with going 1.8T (or 2.0T, though my 1.8T seems to pull a lot harder than most cars out there, so really, you can't lose either way)...
I'm just bitter I don't have the 6 speed that comes with the next model year... grrr...

Well, the V6 is also limited by budget, whether you have a massive one or not
My budget is middle of the road, I have money to put into mods, but I have to carefully map the spending. the $1,200ish for a chip is going to take me a while (APR R1 DV, not running high boost on a stock DV, Injectors for Stage 1+ Chip, and APR Stage 1+ chip with stock and 93 octane tunes)
I do like my Carbonio though, noticably decreased fuel economy (I suppose it would be a gain if I could keep my foot off the floor, but alas, Turbo....)
