Question 1.8t Mod list... What's next?

So I've just begun modding my '03 A4 1.8t Quattro and I'm looking for some direction on the best path. At this point I'm happy with the look but I need more power!

What I've got:

Unitronic Stage 1+
Borla Exhaust
18x8 Wheels
JOM Coilovers

I was thinking my next moves would be :

Upgraded DV or BOV (mines still stock)
Test pipe
FMIC (Godspeed?)
Intake heat shield
K04-015??

I'm not looking for crazy power at this point but enough to make the car more fun to drive. As it stands powerband seems to stop around 4500rpm and it seems to lose power after that. I'm sure the FMIC will reduce that power loss in the higher rpms when the intake temps start cooking. Any info would help or info would be appreciated.

How is the stage 1+ mod? I want to get the apr 1+, but I'm thinking about skipping it and putting a k04 upgrade on instead, are the gains worth it, or would it be better to just go with the k04? Pretty much everything you listed is want I want to skip to.

It was a nice and noticeable improvement, especially in low rpm pull strength. It made the car much more fun to drive. In my opinion it was well worth the money and I'm sure it's the best bang for the buck. I can't vouch for the k04 programming or APR's chips but I'm sure there would be a much greater improvement with the K04. I doubt the differences between Unitronic and APR's mapping is extreme. The Unitronic K04 mappings require larger injectors and turbo-back exhaust.

UNITRONIC STAGE 2+ (K04-015, 93oct) : 265HP / 300LB-TQ
UNITRONIC STAGE 1+ (Stock K03, 93oct): 215HP / 245LB-TQ

I believe if you've purchased any Unitronic programming you can upgrade to a greater stage for like $50 and most places charge a half hour labor to install the programming as well. So if you're not up for doing the injectors, K04 and turbo-back exhaust just yet it wouldn't be a bad move to go with the lower stage chip for now. However the jump from stock to Stage 2+ would probably blow your mind.

I also installed a race front snub mount and that made a HUGE difference in drive feel. Hitting the gas in 2nd/3rd gear as well as shifting with the stock one I could feel the engine moving A LOT and jerking the car. The stock snub mount was rotted and soft when I pulled it so it may not make as much of a difference if the stock one is in good shape. Cheap and easy to install (~30 min). Don't know how I forgot this one in my mod list because it was surely one of the best things I could have done.

DEpends how much power you want

Intake side:
Maf houseing 3inch or 2 1/2inch
DV or BOV
FMIC
Exhaust side:
New manifold there are alot top mounts or to the side or even bottom still w/o external wastegates
Wastegates there couple sizes to chose from

Turbos;
there are so many i wont list but ko4 isgood for low end but falls short up top
my GT28 hit full boost at around 3200 and pulls till redline, just for reference. maybe you want a turbo that has full boost earlier.

Injectors:
Size depends on how much air/boost you can get inot your motor

TUNE:
What kinda and by who make all the different

Where you live? id let you drive my car im in wisconsin .

I can't see a good reason to buy a K04-015 when the Frankenturbo is available. More power, essentially no penalty in spool. In the event that I ever upgrade from the stock K03 on my car, that's the minimum I'd go for, as it's only about $200 more than the K04 IIRC. (ECS lists K04 at $899 last I looked, and the Frankenturbo, including its own custom exhaust manifold, is $1100.)

Thanks for the info guys. I've definetally decided to rethink my turbo choice. If I'm going to do it, might as well do it right. That Frankenturbo kit does look promising for the price. FMIC then that kit may be the direction I'll go.

Earlier I was playing with Torque Android app HP/TQ readings and the best pull hit 180ft/lb and 160hp on fairly flat road. Seems about right for Quattro.

What's wrong with the stock MAF?
