Does it only seem to happen when you're turning and going over a bump at the same time?

You know you’re a B5 owner when you’ve spent 15min looking for the gas cover release button the FIRST time you tried to feed it with go-juice, only to find out the cover just flips open with no locking mechanism and you think to yourself “guess German engineering isn’t all its cracked up to be.” Then 1 year or two later you find out about the automated lock on the gas cover that’s linked to central locking, at which point you say to yourself “touché…”

If you have no boost on your 1.8t and nothing you do makes it boost again so you have to keep the revs above 3k or you aren't going anywhere, and merging onto the freeway is almost as scary as riding with a dunk driver going 55 down the wrong way of a one way street

When you discover after a week of ownership that the windows go down by turning the key in the door an holding it to the unlock position (already mentioned, I know) and then after over a year of ownership and being under the full impression that it was the facelift and later cars with this feature, discover that you can roll up/down the windows by pushing and holding the lock/unlock button on the keyfob, and then proceed to use this feature merely to trip out your friends when engaging in casual conversation near your car and all of a sudden the windows start going down apparently of their own accord.

I guess I've been lucky. As of Halloween I've had my 1998 A4 for one year, I've put 30,000 (+ or -) miles on it, and I've yet to run into a problem with the car, save for needing to replace brake pads all the way around and the Check Engine light.
Great, now I probably jinxed it.
