I'm gonna call BS. I know you're only front wheel drive, but I have never heard of anyone getting much better than 30mpg in the past 5 years I've been on this forum- so I'm kinda going to doubt you average 33.6 and your dreams of reaching 600 miles from a tank full are just that- dreams, lol. Are you sure you're not using the metric system?
tire pressure >= 35psi.
Mobil 1 5W-40 oil
clean air filter
NGK V Power plugs w/ .032" plug gap
start slow from a stop (drive like a grandma lol)
Also, I only use my car to commute to work with very little stops. And my motor only has about 70k mi. on it.
If I have the best mileage then I deserve an audiforums.com reward!! Ha, ha.

On a longer trip, highway mileage, I've pulled about 32mpg based on a full tank and a fill-up back to full, calculated from the trip odometer. Cruising about 70mph steady, AC off, and 38-39psi in the tires. Did it on several 3-5 hour trips. Amazing what good maintenance can achieve
