I've tried searching but I can't find the answer out to this problem.... Could there be an issue with the ecu preventing the key from turning in the ingition? Earlier I disconnected the battery and a few mintues later the key turned...has anyone experienced this ? I'm sure the stealership would charge me $1,000 just for that

That was just a coincidence... The ecu doesnt control the key cylinder, and there isnt any other electrical lock, unless you have an automatic maybe, then I dont think it will let you REMOVE a key if it is in gear.

i said "tap" with a rubber mallet. not hit. and it workd with my honda. although im sure this is not ur problem. there are many experiences of this workign with people but as you know, our cars are different.
hope u can find a local mechanic to maybe look at it. someone who was or is an audi tech with prices better than a dealership.

yeah , thanks for the advise on the mallet thing. like your said yes these cars are different from your typical honda or toyota, i managed to turn the key but i have to really **** around and wiggle the key..... so now im thinkin maybe the area where the key goes in is too loose? by this i mean like i have the key in the ignition, not turned or anything but its like that whole piece wiggles alot so m aybe somethings loose in there .... yeah imma call someone i know whos a audi mechanic who used to work at the stealership
