The transmission on my 01 a4 quattro blew and i was quoted 2,100 dollars to replace the trans with a used one, trans included. The engine has just over 150k on it, and it's only worth about 3300 in running condition. With purchase I'm already in on the car about 3,800 including fixing other things. My main question is, is it worth it to fix the trans and drive it until it dies, or just cut my losses and get what i can for it now? Does anyone know how long typically these engines will last with proper maintenance? I know this is a little off topic but I'm not sure what to do at this point.
