Default World's fastest B5 A4 12V

Looking to build the world's fastest B5 A4 2.8 12V. Does anyone know any 1/4 mile records?

I figure it can't be that fast, it's a 12v!

This is too funny. Your sig is my favorite part. As if youve already started this lol. Your next question will be "what can i do to my 12v?"

Buddy, I've served 3 tours in Iraq, 2 in Afghanistan, and have a 3 year old daughter and 5 month old son. My DD is an 05 Avalanche, and my wife drives a 09 Liberty. I sold an 01 SS to pay off some bills, and picked up this A4 as a fun project.

I believe you are mistaken. Would you like to rephrase your response?

I don't need to know what to do, I wanted to know if there are any posted records or times for 12V 2.8's. I operate a machine shop in Orlando, FL and have most of the shortblock done. When I purchased the car, I bought a separate longblock assembly from a local boneyard.

So, no records I am assuming?

No one that I know of ever tried making a 12V fast. The money factor vs. power gain isn't worth it to some people.

If you want to do it, by all means, please do. I am excited to see what you can do to it.

Welcome to the forums BTW.

That's my major motivation. Nobody has done it.

It is extremely expensive for the very little you can do externally. Luckily, a machine shop is a handy tool to even the cost.

I'm shooting for low 11's before the end of 2011.

what do you have planned to make it into the 11's?

most of the 1.8t with bigger turbos can't make it to the 11's.... to make an audi get into the 11's you have to have about 400whp.... i doubt you will get a 2.8 anywhere near 400whp

i would say i have about 300whp+/_ 20whp(more like -20) and i would have to guess i am very low 13- very high 12..... to take a full second off that time you would have to get crazy

a stock 12v will probably be 170whp at most... a built 12v will maybe see 250whp at most... most of the pes guys are no more than 260-270whp(depending on other mods)

You plan on dropping a 2.7t bottom end with twin turbos and strap the 12v heads on top of that? My guess is that it still wouldn't run low 11's at that point unless put it on a tank and shot it down the 1/4 mile. Most built 2.7t's dont run low 11's and even less 1.8t's. I think the fastest A4 2.8 ran low 13's.

I know what it takes to run low 11's or quicker in a B5, done it in my A4 1.8t and in a S4 2.7t. Both making well over 500whp to do that.

Good luck getting 500+whp out of a 2.8 12v.
