will fwd lowering springs fit on awd cars?
#12
yep. the rear suspension is different from FWD to quattro, hence why there are 2 different spring sets available. Just get springs designed for your car, the S4 spring will make your car sit higher if 1.8 since the 2.7 is heavier(maybe not in bac but def up front which would look retarded). Brand new H&Rs are less than $250, race or sport.

I'm not exactly sure why they wouldn't work but everyone says they won't. I have at least heard of people getting fwd coilovers on accident and saying they didn't fit their quattro car but that is different than fwd springs on quattro struts.. quattro rear struts go up inside the upright and I don't think fwd ones are like that which might be a problem. the fwd ones look longer too. if they would fit on either then you'd probably hear of springs that can work on fwd or quattro but I've never seen any

thats because everyone trys to use the fwd struts and springs on there awd which would not work.
im just using the springs. from search and on here the fronts 100% fits and the rear's looks the same.

You may see the height as the same but the position at which the springs are cut may be different. They may be the right height but wound narrower or wider. There's a lot of ways they can differ. Everything I have seen says they won't fit, as the others stated, but that may be an attempt to use struts too. Your money, time, and effort though - definitely post up and let us know.
Am I mistaken in thinking the Avant also has a unique setup, different than the sedans?
