Why spend 1g on ko4 when you can get a GT28R?

RE: Why spend 1g on ko4 when you can get a GT28R?
I ran the P-16/injectors with a k04 on my 98; around 250 whp. I am now UPGRADING to the gt28rs on my 97. It seemed like a crap load of money for the k04 and I was still getting my butt kick by random guys in the hood. ATP has a pretty good combo but I haven't looked into their software to see if they lean out the motor just to get numbers... Out the door I believe it was injectors, software, and turbo for 2 grand. That was around 330hp crank... Bang for the buck is important; oh wait we own audis My two cents

I ran the P-16/injectors with a k04 on my 98; around 250 whp. did you ever get a dyno to prove this? that's REALLY high-- it'd be ~320chp. k04 pc-16 files normally dyno at a little over 200awhp iirc. It runs lean. Out the door I believe it was injectors, software, and turbo for 2 grand. That was around 330hp crank... Bang for the buck is important; oh wait we own audis My two cents

There are two main things you want to take into consideration: Budget, and power goals. First, decide the power you want, then check out the BT sticky to see what turbos meet that criteria, then look at the boost threshold (what rpm it builds boost at) and take into account the useable rpm range of power.
That'll get your choice narrowed down a bit, then you can use the search to find out more of the specifics.

1000 dollars for a smaller turbo like a GT28 is nuts anyway. Do it the right way, buy the supporting mods anyway. And then, if you please, spend 1300 and get a real turbo.... Like a 35r. I suppose if your goals arent huge power like that, a gt28 would suffice. I suppose it just depends on what you like.
